Taster sessions

What’s included?

We offer a limited number of one-week clinical taster placements, available on a weekly basis. These placements are hosted within the radiology department at Derriford Hospital, with two of the five days spent in the SWITA Plymouth Education Centre.

This placement is ideal for those looking to:

• Gain insight into the day-to-day work of a consultant radiologist
• Spend one-on-one time with radiologists, radiographers and radiology resident doctors
• Experience both the clinical and teaching environments
• Understand the training pathway and expectations

This is a highly personalised, observational experience, giving you an authentic feel for the specialty. You’ll also participate in structured teaching sessions at the Academy designed to mirror the training experience you’ll receive as a radiology resident.
